The Amafond Conference, held on November 22nd in Franciacorta at Villa Baiana, has been a big success with the presence of 235 people representing the Foundry suppliers industries and Amafond Members.
After the opening by the President Francesco Savelli, different interventions have followed such as the intervention of Marco Bonometti ( AIB President, Industrial Association of Brescia), Roberto Ariotti (President of Assofond) and Giancarlo Losma (President of Federmacchine).
Afterwards there have been other interventions by Gianmarco Giorda (ANFIA Director,Italian Association of the Automotive Industry), Giovanni Sacchi (Italian Trade Agency) Umberto Maggi (Deputy Director Fonderia di Torbole).
After a coffee break , the program continued with some of the major foreign speakers such as Ralf Franke (production manager for foundry casting at BMW of MA- 44 Leitung Druckguß Landshut), Thomas Steinhäuser (Professor at the ‘ Universität Duisburg- Essen) and Dariusz Kazmierczak (plant Manager, Nemak Poland HPDC Foundry and Product Development Center) which have traced various future scenarios from an international perspective .
The conference was followed by an interesting panel discussion moderated by the journalist Gianfranco Fabi with the presence of Gabriele Galante (Honorary President of Amafond and Chairman of the IMF), Marco Bonometti (AIB President, Industrial Association of Brescia) Massimo Sandrone (Brembo) and Paolo Streparava (Streparava).
After the award of Amafond to four University students who have made the thesis in the field of Metallurgy Foundry won by Mirella Tebaldini (University of Brescia), the conference ended with a buffet dinner and a delighted get-together with musical entertainment by Omar Pedrini (singer-songwriter) and with Maddalena Corvaglia (showgirl and hostess television).
